Quartier Baakenhafen

In May 2019 AUKETT + HEESE was invited to compete in a building construction competition for the HafenCity Hamburg, Baakenhafen Quarter by Patrizia Immobilien AG.

Utilisation concept: the “Baakenhafen” quarter will be developed into an urban residential location characterised by a variety of uses, forms of disposal and a broad social mix. Cooperatives and building associations, subsidised housing, privately-financed rental and owner-occupied flats and price-restrained housing will shape the neighbourhood with a wide range of different housing typologies. One of the central objectives for the future resident structure in the “Baakenhafen” quarter is to achieve a social mix with simultaneous strong social integration in this urban residential location. A binding target for the entire “Baakenhafen” quarter is a ratio of one-third subsidised housing. Provision for specific target groups such as students or people with care and nursing needs is also supported.

In this context AUKETT + HEESE developed a range of flexible utilisation concepts for flats.
