Sustainable building complex
The concept envisions a new urban district on Wilmersdorfer Strasse that combines urban life, offices and residences. The ensemble is made up of five buildings: four new, modern constructions and an existing building from 1896 on Goethestrasse that is worthy of heritage protection and that would be comprehensively renovated and thoughtfully developed.
The plan is to build six to seven aboveground stories as well as an underground level, all for different uses: retail, restaurants, offices and residential. Along Wilmersdorfer Strasse and on the adjacent Goethestrasse and Pestalozzistrasse, the different uses overlap. The ground floor zones are designed for offers aimed at the general public to help enliven these public spaces.
With the combination of commercial and private usage, sustainable architecture, and a thoughtful circulation concept, the design demonstrates how Wilmersdorfer Strasse could be developed to become an attractive and welcoming urban space for residents and visitors, retailers and business owners.

The underground car park with spaces for 20 cars is accessed via Goethestrasse; this is also where retailers would receive deliveries. The residential buildings are connected to a shared, green courtyard that is designed to serve as both a calm oasis and a meeting place.
As part of the concept, the existing building on Goethestrasse would be carefully renovated and architecturally enhanced. In addition to renovating the existing structure, the concept also envisions a vertical addition that could house up to three modern residential units.
